(K)ein Vorsatz für Deine guten Vorsätze: Habit Stacking

(Not) a resolution for your good resolutions: Habit Stacking

Decrease. To do more sports. To learn something new. quit smoking Save more money.

These are some of the most popular New Year's resolutions; maybe you've already done some of it yourself.

But while the majority of us make New Year's resolutions, only a minority stick to them. Only 9% of those who make resolutions actually stick with them for more than a few weeks.

If something doesn't work, then throw it away, right? That's why we now forget the good intentions that we don't stick to anyway and take a shortcut for more change in our lives: Habit Stacking.

The building of habits

We fail at our resolutions because it is very difficult to change habits. You may have heard the theory that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. It's not an exact science, though - some do it in time, others take much longer. Actually said a study that the time frame can be from 18 to 254 days long.

So, habit building looks different for everyone. But one thing is clear: the more often you do something, the easier it is for you to continue. Practice makes perfect and so on.

Which brings us back to our original problem: changing habits is hard. But when you pair new habits with existing ones, it becomes a lot easier.

This is how habit stacking works

In habit stacking, you combine a new behavior with an existing one.

For example, you brush your teeth every day. It's always been like this and you don't have to think about it anymore. And because you're brushing your teeth anyway, it's easier for you to get into the habit of doing something new.

For example, if you want to drink more, you could drink a glass of water before or after brushing your teeth. It's not a hassle, it's just another step you add to regular brushing.

The formula for habit stacking is simple:

Before/after (existing habit),

I will (new habit).

Some examples:

  • Before I shower, I think of three things I'm grateful for.

  • After breakfast, I prepare a healthy lunch.

  • Before I get the mail, I take a short walk.

  • After work I meditate for five minutes.

Habit Stacking is your automated reminder of the things you want to do more often. Over time it will become a habit - and you will benefit with a minimum of effort.

Feel Great: Your ally in habit stacking

Some habits lend themselves better to habit stacking than others. Feel Great is one of the simple ones.

The Feel Great program also has a simple formula:

2 products + 1 method = feel great

The two products are Balance and Unimate. balance is drunk before meals and contains vitamins and a fiber matrix to support optimal digestion and healthy blood sugar levels. The drink Unimate contains highly concentrated yerba mate, puts you in a good mood, sharpens your senses and gives you energy.

The method? Intermittent fasting, where you eat all of your daily meals in an 8-10 hour window and fast for the rest of the day.

Feel Great is designed to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. This makes it easier to achieve your goals without relying solely on your willpower. And even better: Feel Great can be easily integrated into your everyday life. Habit stacking with Feel Great is so simple, you may not even realize it.

Here's how Feel Great fits the Habit Stacking formula:

Before/after (existing habit), I become (new habit).

Your day could look something like this:

  • Before I start the day, I drink Unimate.

  • I take Balance 10-15 minutes before meals.

  • If I need something in between, I drink Unimate.
